It's a It's a gorgeous Sunday morning, the sun is shining, the leaves are falling, and there was FROST on my car this morning (and everywhere else too!). I thought I'd show you some of the hats I've knit for charity to give at Christmas to those less fortunate. They're children-sized, 4 to 10 years old. I used a basic hat pattern and tried to put different edges and colors on them. Here are a few I've done so far...I'll put a few more on as the days pass by. I'm trying not to post without a picture. I just think it's more interesting with pictures on a blog. I'm going to take a break now. Stay tuned for more adventures with TRYING to knit with two kittens, Harry & Hawthorne... (it's not EASY knitting with kittens, but I'll DO it!).

Saturday...

Well, now I have pictures. It's a DONE DEAL. I finished the hat and ascot for my goddaughter for this Christmas. I decided to knit up a small leaf to put on the hat to give it a little "oomph". The ascot has "oomph" on its own...those stripes! I nearly chucked it, but thought, SHE'D like it (my goddaughter, she's 10 years old). So I kept going and finished it up. The top of that hat I also like because of the finish. I prefer not to have a full "gather" at the top. So I've been putting this finish on the tops of a lot of hats. But that's another post...

Here are the hat and ascot...and of course, this is about Harry & Hawthorne too. Harry insisted on holding the knitting and being in the picture. You know cats...The brothers were six months old on October 1st. The doc says Harry and Hawthorne are going to be B I G cats. They're part Maine Coon. You can tell by the extra fur in their ears and paws. Hawthorne is below. He preferred to be in the bathroom sink while all this photo taking was going on... :-)

Let's start over...

I'm starting over with this blog. I don't have pics of my FINISHED project that I just made, but will soon. I'll post the old ones and show you the finished product soon. The above is the finished hat for my goddaughter for Christmas. She wanted green and blue stripes. Not too hard. So I made her a scarf to match. Ended up making an ascot. MORE stripes. THat's the one on the left. It's a close up of the fake cables. They DO match...the light was off.
Sorry, have to cut this short. More later...
